Look out for more updates as he transitions into this exciting career opportunity! 3.31.2017 - The Joseph Rulli Trio is excited to start its twice monthly gig at Fare Well Restaurant in Washington, D.C. on Monday, April 3rd! The trio features Joseph Rulli on saxophone, Ellington Carthan on piano, and Alex Nowak on bass, and will be performing at Fare Well from 7 to 9 PM a couple of Monday evenings each month. Rulli, alongside saxophonist Matthew Stookey, held masterclasses and performances at several schools in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metro area, before heading to Oklahoma State to perform at the North American Saxophone Alliance Region IV conference. Stay tuned for more exciting news about the duo! 2.21.2017 - Rulli will be performing two compositions by George Gershwin with the Rogers (AR) High School Orchestra later this spring in Washington, D.C. at Union Station! The orchestra, under the direction of Karol Rulli, will perform this free concert at 12 PM on April 7th. 1.16.17 - Rulli's saxophone duo with Matthew Stookey, NYX, was selected to perform a recital at the 2017 North American Saxophone Alliance Region IV Conference at Oklahoma State University! The program will include compositions by Evan Chambers, Peter Rothbart, and a new composition for two saxophones and electric track by Joshua Oxford, commissioned by NYX. They will be performing a recital consisting of works by Marc Mellits, Evan Chambers, Peter Rothbart, and an exciting world premiere by up and coming composer, Joshua Oxford. This exciting teaching opportunity will allow him to musically interact with students and teachers across the Washington. D.C. area. To learn more about Wolf Trap, please visit wolftrap.org. 3.11.16 - Rulli was awarded a third place award at the 2016 MU Research and Creative Activities Forum for his recital program of unaccompanied works for saxophone! In addition to winning a cash prize, Rulli had the opportunity to network and share his research with other award-winning University of Missouri graduate students! 12.1.15 - More exciting news! Rulli was recently informed that he has been selected to perform a solo recital and in a masterclass for Kenneth Tse at the 2016 U.S. Navy Band International Saxophone Symposium! On his solo recital Rulli will be performing two new works written for him in the last year by Travis Herd and Ben Colagiovanni. On the masterclass Rulli will be playing the first two movements of the Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Wind Ensemble by Ingolf Dahl. Specific details will soon follow regarding location and time. Rulli was awarded an Odyssey Performance Fellowship on behalf of the Odyssey Chamber Music Series for the 2015-2016 season!
